The Biosphere Reserve “El Triunfo” is invaded by about 40 farmers from the month of August 2009 are burning and cutting down trees in the same area inhabited by endangered species such as the Quetzal and the Peacock symbol of the state. Efrain Orantes, administrator of “Finca Arroyo Negro”, denounces the worrying situation in this last stronghold of the rainforest of Chiapas. Currently there aren’t interventions by the Secretariat of State for Environment to tackle the problem and request calls for civil society to protect the heritage of all peoples of Chiapas and the world.

La Riserva della Biosfera “El Triunfo” è invasa da circa 40 agricoltori che dal mese di Agosto 2009 hanno iniziato a disboscare ed incendiare una fetta di territorio della riserva, nella stessa zona protetta  e abitata da specie minacciate di estinzione come il Quetzal ed il Pavone simbolo dello stato. Efrain Orantes, amministratore di “Finca Arroyo Negro”, denuncia la preoccupante situazione per questa ultima roccaforte della foresta pluviale del Chiapas. Attualmente non ci sono stati interventi da parte della Segreteria di Stato per l’ambiente per affrontare il problema e chiede un intervento da parte della società civile per tutelare il patrimonio di tutti i popoli del Chiapas e del mondo.
