Pandillas de Chiapas
The Pandillas come to life in the 90s in a Los Angeles neighborhood, assuming the characteristics of a criminal organization comparable to Mafia, carrying the name of Maras Salvatrucha MS13 and the Barrio 18 rivals that contend over 33 countries from Salvador to Canada, counting on an army composed by 50 to 100 thousand soldiers around the world.
Packed in small communities they recruit supporters from the street and schools, managing an own market for drugs and weapons.
Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico are the countries controlled by the Pandillas that over the course of 20 years leave behind a long trail of brutal murders. From Guatemala through the city of Tapachula all the way to the Chiapas capital Tuxtla Gutierrez they rapidly change in structure and characteristics, making it even more difficult to identify the young Pandillas from Chiapas.
